"Is there an answer to India 's water problem?"  (p. 9)

This book is a story of New Delhi. New Delhi is a capital of India. This book is so interesting for me because I’ll make presentation about New Delhi at the speaking class.

The water of Japan is clean and safety especially, the water of kumamoto is good. However, the water of New Delhi couldn’t drink because people throw industrial waste into the river. So, people of New Delhi had to get water from community water trunk. However, the community water trunk had a limit to supply water. It caused a water shortage. If you were in that situation, what would you do?

I think that water is very important for us to live. According to this book, people of New Delhi were in trouble about water. However, they could find an answer to the water problem. That is my favorite point in this book.

BR 2-01: Dangerous Dining

"Still breathing?"  (p. 18)

This book is a Japanese famous fish story. It is a fugu. Have you ever eaten fugu? I have never eaten fugu. Fugu is famous and expensive food in Japan. It sounds good, but in fact, fugu is very dangerous fish because it has poison. Are there good way to eat fugu? You can go fugu restaurants. There are special fugu chefs in Japan. They have license to cook fugu and serve us safety fugu. I have never known it. If people who don’t have fugu license cook fugu, they may get sick or die. It is very dangerous.

Do you know why people began to eat fugu in spite of dangerous? That reason was want of food after WWⅡ. After WWⅡ, people looked for something to eat, and then people found fugu. I have never known it.

how to spend the free time

I think that people should spend the most time helping their wives or volunteering to help people they don’t know. First, husbands should help their wives because married couple helps each other. Housework is not only wives’ work, so husbands should help it. For example, they can help cooking, cleaning and washing. If they do it, their wife feels so happy and thinks they are good husband. It seems to me that you should volunteer to help people they don’t know. If someone needs help, you should do what you can do. For example, you can raise money. When you do it, you will feel happy because you can help someone. So, if you have free time, I think that you should spend the most time helping or volunteering someone.

Introduction

Hello, everyone. My name is Amara. I’m from India. The capital of India is New Delhi. My hometown is New Delhi. My parents and my grandparents live there. I have an older brother and sister. They also live in New Delhi, but they live in different house. On the other hand, I live in Mumbai now. It is the biggest city in India. I’m 30 years old. I’m not married yet, but I have a pretty dog, so I am not lonely. My job is TV announcer. I have been worked as a TV announcer for 8 years. I like my job. My parents also like my job because they can see me through the television. My hobby is skiing, but there are no places to ski in India, so I often go to other country to ski with my friends. I dislike snow because snow is very cool. When I ski, I always wear a ski suit, globes and glasses. I never touch snow. When I was 22 years old, I skied for the first time. I don’t like snow, but I thought that snow was very beautiful at that time. It is fun for me to ski, so I ski fifth in a year. Another hobby is watching movies. Indian movie is very fun because it is like musical. In my free time, I watch movies a lot. Thank you.

Cooking

I’ll tell you how to make Japanese fried-dough cookies that is called “Karintou” in Japan because I made it with my sister today.  I use a sweet potato.

First, cut the sweet potato like sticks. The sweet potato is tough, so be careful. If you can’t cut it like sticks, I think anything is okay. After that, sweet potato put into the water because takes out sweet potato’s bitterness. Next, the sweet potato is fried in oil. Please fry it with the low temperature oil. It is the most important. If the oil is high temperature, the sweet potato will burn. Finally, mix the fried sweet potato and starch syrup. I think that Japanese fried-dough cookies are very simple cooking, so please try it. However, its calorie is higher more than you expected, so you are careful not to eat a lot.

The Autumn Equinox Day

Today is the Autumn Equinox Day. It is one of national holidays in Japan. People usually say that daytime and night are same length, but actually, daytime is longer than night. Do you know when the Autumn Equinox Day became the national holiday? It was established in 1948 to respect our ancestor. So, the Autumn Equinox Day is called the Autumn equinoctial week. People visit a grave with their family. The famers appreciate having a good crop of rice. I had been thought that the Autumn Equinox Day taught us that winter is coming. So, I was surprised when I knew the really mean of the Autumn Equinox Day. The Autumn Equinox Day is usually on September 23 almost year, but it is on September 22 this year. It is the first time in 116 years. The Autumn Equinox Day of this year is very cold and rain, so please take care.

My pets

Today, I’ll introduce my family. They are my pretty pets. I have two dogs in my family. Look at the picture. The name of sleeping dog is Korosuke. He was named by my father. When I was 6 years old, he came to my house. He is a gentle dog, so he has never bitten.

The other dog is Pee. He was named by my father and my younger sister. When I was 10 years old, he came to my house. He is a vigorous dog, so he barks anytime. When they eat food in the morning, Pee always barks. I think that he is glad to eat food, so he always do that. On the other hand, Korosuke always waits his breakfast in his house. I think he is great dog. Both of them are Welsh Corgi, so they have long trunks and short legs, and they don’t have tail. Their appearances are very cute. I gave them a shaves ice that has no syrup in this summer. They ate it soon. I thought that they were glad to eat it because this summer was very hot. Korusuke is an old dog, so I want him to live longer as him as possible.

Diary

Today, I went to KGU after an interval of a month. The first class that I take at the fall semester was cultural anthology. I could get its credit last semester, but I want to get better grade at this semester. I had taken the Reading class in the 3th class during the spring semester, but my teacher has gone abroad to study. So I have no class in the 3th class on Thursday. I had nothing to do, so I talked my friend about K-pop. She likes K-pop very much. She likes BEAST now. We watched some movie about K-pop on the Youtube. I enjoyed it. I took the outline of Japanese. I don’t like this class, but I want to get this credit, so I’ll take this class every week. I’ll have three classes tomorrow. Do my best tomorrow, too!

Famous people in Kumamoto

I want to tell you about famous people who is from Kumamoto.

Do you know Kitahara Hakusyu? He is a Japanese poet. He was born in Nankan. I remember that I learned his poem at the Japanese class when I was an elementary school student. He met some famous people, for example, Yosano Akiko, Ishilawa Takuboku and Mori Ogai. He made a lot of school songs for many school. He gave a song Tokyo University as a second school song. I think that he is a good poet.

Do you know Hara Yutaka? He is an illustrator. His famous work is Kaiketsu-zorori. When I was an elementary school student, I often read it. I liked it, so I was surprised that the man who wrote Kaiketu-zorori is from Kumamoto.

The author of famous manga “One piece” is from Kumamoto. I think that people living in Kumamoto have already known. So, I want to tell you about other writer of manga. Do you know “Natsume Yuujinntyou”?  I like this manga. This manga’s author is from Kumamoto. The name of her is Midorikawa Yuki. She lives in Kumamoto now. Her manga is set in Kumamoto. According to her manga, there is a well that can drink natural soda pop in Asagiri Town. I want to go there someday.

My favorite season

My favorite season is winter because winter has a lot of events. For example, there are Christmas, New Year's Eve and the New year's holiday. Some people say that they don't like winter because it is cold. However, I can stand cold weather better than hot weather like summer.  I think that everyone like Christmas because it is a fantastic event. I don't do special things in my house, but I enjoy the mood of Christmas. I think that New Year's Day is important day because a year starts on January 1st. So, I go to shrine and pray to be a good year. Next year, I have coming of age ceremony, so the New year's holiday of next year will be special memory.

My favorite animal

I like animals very much. Especially, I like eagles and hawks. I think that they are the strongest all of birds because they are fast and big, and they have sharp nails. When I watched them on the TV show for the first time, I thought that they were cool. In Japan, some people can control them. They are called falconer. I think it is difficult to control animals. Especially, eagles are bird, so they can run away from falconer. However, falconers try to control them and eagles don't try to run away. When I knew it, I thought that they are good relationship like a master and pet. I respect falconers. I want to watch and touch eagles someday.

My favorite sport to watch

My favorite sport to watch is soccer. In fact, I don't know exactly rule of soccer. However, I watched Euro and Olympic game. I am watching world cup game. When I watched Euro cup game, I thought that soccer is interesting sport. Before I watch it, I had been thought that soccer is long and boring. Euro cup game changed soccer's impression for me. At the Olympic game, Zac-Japan and Nadeshiko-Japan did their best and Nadeshiko-Japan could get silver medal. I want them to do their best and get medal again 4 years later. Today, Young Nadeshiko-Japan fights with Nigeria and next Tuesday, Zac-Japan fights with Iraq. I will watch both of these games. I want them to win.

My favorite high school memory

My favorite high school memory is English camp. I went to Kumamoto Kita high school and I majored in English course. English course of this high school has some special events. For example, there are special classes, English drama and English camp. I liked English camp the best. It is hold during summer vacation in Aso every year. When I joined it, we had an interesting rule. If you speak Japanese, you pay 10 yen fine. When I was second year at the high school, we had to do English drama, so we practiced it during English camp. We practiced dancing and singing. I enjoyed it so much. Many ELT joined English camp, so we could get some advises. English camp is my favorite high school memory.

Something special I did during this vacation

I went to Saga with my family. In my family, both of my parents are working, so they can't take rest on the same day easily. The family trip of this summer was a special event for me. My mother enjoyed it so much. She often took a bath. I thought that it was good trip and I want to go somewhere next summer with my family. The other special thing was birthday present from my friend. She lives in Nagoya now, so she sent me a birthday present. I was very surprised and glad when I got it. I was glad again to read a letter from her. It was also special thing for me.

My favorite singer

One of my favorite singer is Ayaka. I think that “Mikazuki” is the most famous song of her songs. It was released in 2006. When I listened to it for the first time, I felt a little sad. Because some words of the song are sad and I felt the song’s melody was also sad. However, I like this song. She got some awards.

I want to tell you about her history. When she was 16 years old, she started to sing a song in Osaka. One year later, she begun to go to music school in Fukuoka, so she had to come and go between Osaka and Fukuoka every weekend. One year later, she went to Tokyo to live by herself. After that, she became famous singer.

In 2009, she spoke on the TV to marriage with Mizushima Hiro who is a Japanese cool actor. It was happy thing. However, she told us to make a pause because of disease at the same time. It was sad news for me, but the song that was the last song before she make a pause touched me. In 2009, she restarted to sing songs. When I knew it, I was very glad. I want her to sing good songs because I love her beautiful voice.

Diary

I went to valley of Kikuchi during summer vacation with my friends. The water of it was very beautiful and clear. Its color was light blue. The water was very cool, so I couldn’t play in the water. We walked there about one hour. We took a lot of pictures there with my friends. We met a little boy there, and we talked him a little. He said that he came from Saga with his family to meet his grandparents. We spent good time there.

Next, we went to summer festival in Ozu City. I went to it for the first time. I ate Hashimaki there. It is like Okonomiyaki. It was very good.

After that, we bought fireworks and did it. I enjoyed it. I spend good time all a day.
